We provide expert care and support to young people with cancer

Story

Every day in the UK, around 7 young poeple aged 13-24 find out they have cancer.

Sounds crazy doesn't it!? I can assure you this is true though. Having worked on the Teenage & Young Adult Cancer Wards at Univerisity College London Hospital (UCLH) for 4 years, I have witnessed first hand, the fight young people face when diagnosed with cancer. They need expert treatment & support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer.’

After running my first ever London Marathon for TCT in 2012, raising £7294, I have decided it's time to hit the road again, in support of a charity which is so close to my heart. I hope I can take this raise up to £10,000, with your help!!

Running 26.2 is such a killer; training for it is even harder! Nothing in comparison to what young cancer patients go have to deal with. Words can not describe the suffering I see on the ward on a daily basis. The good news is that the Teenage Cancer Trust, funds specialists units around the country aiming to ensure that every young person with cancer and their family receive the best possible care and professional support throughout their cancer journey.

Donate online today to support the Teenage Cancer Trust or give by texting "MOTA85 £" to 70070.

If you'd like to support my fundraising efforts further in your workplace, school or establishment, I'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch by contacting me - Haroon.Mota@uclh.nhs.uk.
