MissBanzai have decided to set themselves a challenge....   We are going to try and beat the sun from West to East.   Please sponsor us in our stupid attempt to do this... as while we are making fools of ourselves, we might as well raise some money for a great charity too :) Details:-   Run 4 the Sun Well after finding this on pistonheads sometime ago.. <a href="http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=23197" target="_blank">http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=23197</a> and then of course it being featured on TopGear.. The team at MissBanzai decided that this could be something fun to do. So we are going to give it a go…. Date: 1st / 2nd / 3rd July 2011 Details Friday 1st July Arrive at a specified campsite have a few drinks, BBQ and a chill out Saturday 2nd July Approx 9pm Leave Lands End in our Run 4 The Sun… Sunday 3rd July… very early Arrive at Lowestoft the most easterly point in time to watch the sun come up.     Quote from Will66 on MissBanzai - Which I think sums it all up "Having had a look at the Nautical Almanac and stuff for Land's End and Lowestoft I reckon we're in trouble. Sunset in Land's End is at 2132 and Sunrise in Lowestoft is at 0440. Fortunately I've had a quick plan. I reckon the route would be along these lines. A30 from Land's End to Exeter, joining the A38/M5 Jump off the M5 at Junction 29 for Honiton on the A30. A30 to A303 to the M3. I reckon Solistice Services on the M3 will need to be our fuel stop. F1 Style pitstop, no time for croissants or M&S food, Gas and GO people Gas and GO! :-) A303 to M3. M3 to M25 anticlockwise to Junction 28 for the A12 A12 to Lowestoft, aim for the Wind Turbine at the mouth of the Harbour! That route is 429 miles meaning our required average speed will be 60.1 mph! If we allow 15 minutes for fuelling throughout the whole trip, which is not a lot, then we need a 62 mph average. This is a massive ask. Roundabouts will become last corner dashes for glory, motorway slip roads will become pitlane exits, every corner will be like Eau Rouge at Spa Francochamps!"   Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
