Sam's Marathon for Royal Oldham Neonatal Unit

ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon · 19 April 2015
My little brother, Tom was born 4 months early at Royal Oldham Hospital, for those who don't know much about premature babies (like I didn't) that's really early. He weighed 760g / 1lb 7oz when he was born and was very dangerously ill as a result of his weight and being born so early.
But today, a year after being born as of January 2015, and after already going through more than most full grown adults I know, Tom's a wonderful, happy and mostly healthy baby boy. He's come out fighting and I couldn't be prouder of my baby brother.
But none of this would be possible without the Neonatal Unit at the hospital. After everything they've done for Tom and for my family and I, I want to be able to give something back to help all of the other children who are born like Tom and help the staff there carry on their amazing work, without which my brother might not be here today.
That's why I'm training to run much further than I've ever EVER run before in the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon (luckily I just turn 18 in time to do it). It's hard training for a marathon while I'm studying for my A Levels. Every day of the week I'm at College and need to find the motivation to train when I come home; so please help me support this fantastic cause and keep me motivated to keep training by sponsoring and reminding me of why it's so important.
