Flora London Marathon 2007 · 22 April 2007 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I ran the marathon and god was it painful.  I did it in 5hrs 55mins, which is 40mins slower than last year which was a little disappointing after putting the training in for it compared to last year.

On the day it was a fantastic expereince even though it was so hot that the weather started to take its toll at about mile 7!

Can we all dig deep now and get the pennies out of the wallets / purses and donate.  Talking of pennies if anyone has a random jar / glass of pennies let me know and i will take them off you and donate them to aspire!

I am running for Aspire a charit that has helped a friend of mine, Will Weston, a final year medical student who unfortunately suffered a spinal injury last summer.  Since then Aspire has offered Will and his family alot of support.  For support like this to continue they need us all to dig deep and help financially.

ASPIRE is a established leading spinal cord injury charity whose philosophy is to reintegrate spinally injured people back into society after their injury and to encourage, facilitate and enable them to reach their full potential. ASPIRE has developed a national programme of work to this end. ASPIRE's work includes purchasing essential specialist equipment for individuals who are paralysed; offering short-term housing and independent living courses for spinally injured people newly discharged from hospital and a ground-breaking research programme looking into ways of improving quality of life for wheelchair users.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ASPIRE will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please wipe the dust off you bank card and sponsor me now!  Your sponsorship will truely make a difference to somebodies life.

Many thanks for your support.
