Story
Welcome to our Justgiving page for the Flora London Marathon 2009.
Some time last year, Dave a veteran of 1 marathon, convinced marathon novices Sarah and Jon (in a collective lapse of concentration) to join him and put their bodies to the test, running 26.2 gruelling miles on 26th April 2009.
We have all chosen to run for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and as a group of friends we thought we'd pool our fundraising efforts. To the left are some more words about Muscular Dystrophy, demonstrating that it is a very worthy cause. It is also one very close to our hearts, because Dave's brother Jon has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and has been in a wheelchair since his early teens. This provides just the inspiration we are going to need after 22 painful miles, with 4 to go!
On behalf of both ourselves and the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign we would be extremely grateful if you would sponsor us in our efforts and help us to meet our target for this amazing experience. It really doesn't matter how much you are able to give, everything will help. Running a marathon is no mean feat whenever it is done and requires considerable commitment, but knowing that our efforts have been matched by others' generosity will make everything worthwhile.
Thank you in advance for your kind support - we hope to see some of you cheering us on, come the big day in April.
