Here is an Update.
Firstly , Thankyou so much for all your kind messages and Donations. The support has been tremendous and has given Laura a huge delight and determination in her recovery . On behalf of the Scott family and Poole Childrens Unit , Thankyou so much, Its so much appreciated. The staff at the unit have printed off the sponsor form and put it on their wall for all to see! The money raised will probably be spent on a Bubble tube for the sensory unit , CD players and fans for the rooms . We will go in and see how it will be spent sometime soon.
Yes , i did it! I had a great day in the London Marathon and my time was 4.07
{ sorry Dad , my little legs went as fast as they could and i couldn't make the under 4 hours!} Its an amazing and emotional experience.
Laura came out of Hospital on the 27th March is is progressing well. On the 7th April the hospital decided to remove her feeding tube which means she is feeding herself and maintaining her weight. Her speach is improving every day as are her basic skills we take for granted such as itching her nose , doing up zips and buttons ,brushing her teeth. With the help of the Occupational Therapist at Poole, Laura has re-learnt how to throw and catch a ball, jump, hop , and is working really hard at the finer motor skills such as writing. Throughout the whole ordeal , Laura has a wonderful , cheerful , positive attitude and has shown an amazing inner strength and tremendous determination. It has been recommended that Laura attend the Tadworth Rehabilitation Centre in Surrey for 3 months so that she can go back to her school in sept. But if she continues to improve as she has , she may not need to go.Laura's consultant , Dr Sandell has said that Laura is irrepressible and is amazed by her progress . Laura continues to amaze us all.
This is what Geogia has written:
"When Sarah ran the marathon , Laura has been a different person. She had her chube out and has managed to talk better. Laura has been going to the hospital to help her more and now she looks better than you seen her 2 weeks ago all because of Eeyor. Thankyou Sarah for running the maathon and all of Eeyor and the people who had sended there money. It has helped Laura and it means alot to all of her family .
