Story
I am running the 2007 Flora London Marathon in memory of my father-in-law Pete Rideout and my mum's friend Karen Burrows, who both died of cancer.
Macmillan is a brilliant cause; they provide both end of life care and practical and emotional support for people living with cancer. They have recently set up a Youth Line for young people aged 12-21 living with cancer. They campaign on behalf of cancer patients and the huge financial burden faced by them; 1 in 17 people diagnosed with cancer will lose their homes as a result of financial losses due to not being able to work or pay bills. Please go to www.macmillan.org.uk for further information on Macmillan's amazing work.
Running the marathon is also my way of keeping fit and keeping the lard away. Those of you that know me know that I have lost a lot of weight and I would like to keep it that way!
Thank you to my lovely husband Kevin for his support and to my virtual chums at www.runnersworld.co.uk for their advice and support.
Please spare whatever you can for this brilliant cause. Thank you.
And now for the official bit.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
