Thanks for stopping by!  This Marathon idea came about because it takes place 10 days before my 30th birthday and I thought it would be a great way to enter my 4th decade at the peak of physical fitness.  Well at least it sounded a good idea when I was harping on about it and entered into the national ballot which is notoriously difficult to get a place in.  I forgot about the fact that I work for Unilever and Flora sponsor the marathon!  So I found myself entering the ballot at work and now find myself in the Marathon - no turning back!

So if I am going to go through 4 and a half months of disciplined trainig and 26 miles of pain, I thought I should make it worthwhile.

I am raising money for 2 charities.  Any donations made on this page will go to Cancer Research.  My Grandma died of Cancer before I was born, when my Mum was only 31 so I want to raise as much as I can to help research this disease and find cures.

Any money that I raise through events, competitions and advertising on my website will go to The Alzheimer's Society in memory of my Grandfathers.  This is another terrible disease which causes such a loss of dignity.
