Story
Hello and thank you to everyone for visiting my page.
In April 2008 I decided to run an ultra marathon and not just any ultra marathon, but 126km along the Skeleton Coast in Namibia. In addition to the distance and the temperature (it reached 40+ degrees last year), there are hyenas and a 24 hour time limit.
'The race takes us through gravel plains framed by distant ridges and mountains, past dramatic upheavals of granite inselbergs, and takes place under the clearest of blue skies. Participants will be required to remain self sufficient over the 24 hour period carrying their own food and equipment for the duration of the event although water will be provided every 20km'. (http://www.adventure-racing.org/)
I thought that this would be a good opportunity to raise funds for charity. The charity I've chosen is the Rainbow Trust (www.rainbowtrust.org)
The cost of the trip and equipment is all self funded so if anyone is generous enough to want to sponsor me, then all money raised will go directly to the Rainbow Trust.
