The British Dyslexia Association supports people with dyslexia and their families through a UK-wide network of local dyslexia associations. The BDA also campaigns to raise awareness, break down barriers and create a society where people with dyslexia can have the same opportunities in school and at work as everyone else.

My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I am running the Adidas Women's 5K Challenge on 6 September 2009. I know that 5K doesn't seem very much but I am a TOTAL amateur and am totally rubbish at running! So it's quite big deal for me.

I am running for the British Dyslexia Association (BDA). The BDA is a national charity. Its vision is a dyslexia friendly society, which enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential.

Dyslexia affects 1 in 10 of the population.
Dyslexia is a Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) which mainly affects the development of literacy and language related skills.
The BDA aims to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society.
The BDA campaigns and lobbies for long lasting and sustainable change for the benefit of dyslexic people.

The work the BDA does is really important and fundraising is a vital source of income to help them continue this good work. Anything amount you can donate will be much appreciated, I know that times are tough. Every little helps, as they say .

Just so you know- donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the BDA gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Which is blumin’ brilliant, as it costs you NOTHING but makes a massive difference to your donation!
