Great North Run/Stroud Half Marathon · 29 April 2004

The Williams Syndrome Foundation was formed in 1980 and is run by parents for parents of children with this rare condition which causes heart and kidney problems and learning difficulties. It desperately needs funds to finance its ambitious research and family support programmes which include national conventions and regional meetings.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. As always I'm rasing money for the Williams Syndrome Foundation (WSF). I am Chairman of the Foundation and my son Sam has Williams Syndrome.

The Stroud Half Marathon is the WSF's main fund raising event for 2004, so I need to raise as much money as possible. I'm aiming to beat my best time ever and complete the thirteen miles it in under 1 hour and 50 minutes. This will be very difficult for me as I've run six half marathons so far and never yet manage to achieve it. Your support will help spur me on as I pound away the miles in the wind and the rain preparing for the challenge. So please give generously, after all you only have to put your hand in your pocket, but me I have to do all of the running!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Williams Syndrome Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support,

Mike (Captain Team WSF, 54 with sore knees)
