We use the power of sport to change lives for people with sight loss

Story

Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page, I really appreciate it.

Can you imagine life without sight?  I can't.  It would be a struggle, if not impossible, to do many of the things I take for granted.  I can't imagine not being able to see my loved ones faces again.

Did you know that 39 million people around the world are blind?  The most shocking thing though, is that 80% of this blindness could be cured or prevented.  80%... that's over 31 million people are needlessly blind.

I'm running the Southampton half-marathon blindfolded to raise money for Sightsavers, who do incredible work aiming to eliminate avoidable blindness and support those with incurable blindness.

To support those a bit closer to home, I'm also supporting British Blind Sport. If I lost my sight, I think being able to participate in sport would make the world of difference to me.

Please give whatever you can.  Running 13 miles blindfolded is going to be a real challenge and I will be completely dependent on my guide runner.  I urge you to try walking, running or any simple task blindfolded some day; it really helps you understand why this is so important.
