I DID IT....!  I got round in 2 hours 7 minutes.....heavily coached by my cousin (on the left of the photo!).

I ran The Great North Run (half marathon) on Sunday 20th September to help raise funds for the charity we support - Down Syndrome Education International (DownsEd).

DownsEd continues to be a huge part of our lives and a constant lifeline to Lizzie and us as a family.  As most of you know, we first visited DownsEd when Lizzie was 3 months old and with all the early intervention that Lizzie has had it has given her a great start to her inclusive mainstream school education.  Lizzie started school last September and is certainly holding her own at this stage.  She is able to read and write and is fully integrated with her peers.  DownsEd make a difference to families all over the world enabling children with Down Syndrome to reach their full potential.

I  trained very hard over the 3 months leading up to the run and thank all those who were running partners/supporters.

I didn't find it easy and don't think I am a natural runner.
