British 10K London Run 2009 · 12 July 2009 ·

Acid violence is a particularly vicious form of premeditated violence, where acid is thrown usually at the face to disfigure, maim and blind, but not to kill. We provide medical expertise and training to 6 partner organisations, raise valuable funds to support survivors and help to change laws.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
6 Runners, 1 Cause!

Fergus, Jonathan, Sarah,
Richard, Matthew & Richard Taylor  need your support!

We are asking everyone to support us fundraise for Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI) as we take on the British 10K London Run on July 12th 2009. The run is an ideal way for us to help ASTI provide much needed support to survivors of acid attacks in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Pakistan & Uganda, and to spread awareness of this vital charity.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Acid Survivors Trust International gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

In order to complete this 10k challenge, we need your help!  We need your sponsorship! So please sponsor us now and together we can make a difference!
We are depending on your generosity. The money raised is going to a fantastic cause and your support is very much appreciated.

Many thanks & wish us luck!

PS: The photo pictures Nalia Raza, 19, a victim of acid violence after having eye surgery in Islamabad. She was burned six years ago, attacked with acid after she rejected the sexual advances of her school teacher. Naila is from a small village in southern Punjab, and has no choice but to travel long distances to get medical care for her eyes.
