To celebrate my 50th birthday (18/09/60) I have set myself a personal challenge!

I will be fundraising for a charity called GUA Africa.  I want to raise as much as I can to contribute to the university fees of a young Sudanese refugee named Michael Riek. Having lived alone in a refugee camp far from home and family for most of his childhood, Mike now wants to become a doctor so he can return to his homeland and help people - Sudan has one of the lowest numbers of trained doctors in the world.

I plan to cover a minimum total of 50 miles from now leading up to my 50th birthday in September and into my 50th year.
