As most of you know, I ran the Malta Half Marathon 2006 to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. CF is what our daughter Francesca has. Many are not aware what CF is, and just to brief you, CF is a life threatening disease that attacks the lungs and the pancreas. Alot of medication is required every day as at present no cure has been found, and life span is only of 31 years, so you can imagine how important a cure is. You can also visit www.cftrust.org.uk.
Alot of funds are needed for a cure to be found and that is why I decided to continue fundraising cause i really want this to happen, so please I ask you to dig deep into your pockets and donate anything you can, and like that you will be helping our Francesca and the life of many other children!
A special thank you goes to my friend Claire Felice Pace, who helped me tremendously in my training, The Ladies Running Club, all my family and friends for their great support and to Douglas for running with me!! There were times when i was going to give up but Doug kept me going.
I dedicated the run to our special friend Edward, who unfortunately lost his battle with CF last February, a few days after his 30th Birthday. Edward was an amazing person and never complained about his illness, and when I had mentioned that I would like to run the Half Marathon, he encouraged me to go for it, not for him personally, as it was already too late for him but for Francesca. So, thank you Ed, I'm sure you are looking down on us from Heaven.
So I take this opportunity to thank you all for your generous donation and please pass on this site to as many people and friends as possible so together we can SEE OFF CF.
