Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cystic Fibrosis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Hannah, my niece, is 7 months old. She was diagnosed with CF shortly after she was born, thanks in part to the lobbying effort of the CF Trust. Since autumn 2003 the Scottish Executive has funded the inclusion of CF in the Guthrie test (a bloodtest given to all babies at 5 days old) following a campaign by the Trust. This meant Hannah was diagnosed and began treatment many months earlier than would have been the case had she been born before last autumn.

CF is a life limiting condition and you can read much more about the condition, the effect for Hannah and for her family (Kenneth, Karen and Jocelyn) and on how the Trust can impact both on quality & quantity of life on the CF Trust website.

Running the New York Marathon is one way in which we can help given that we live some distance from being able to do anything practical!

Please give what you can. It is very much appreciated.
