Thank you for visiting Ed and Carl's fund raising page for the Rio de Janeiro Marathon.  It has been a bit of a last minute venture in every respect but has all the makings of a great day out!  TASK Brazil was founded in 1992 and works to improve the lives of children and pregnant teenage girls on the streets of Brazil.  For more information please visit: www.taskbrasil.org.uk/  Using the justgiving website is an excellent way to collect money for this cause and if you are a tax payer the tax man chips in as well.

We both have particularly unimpressive running histories so dont expect any records to be broken - it's going to be baking hot and we are currently in the Falklands - it is going to be long and we have been occassionally going for a bimble around the deck!  Carl's preperation has been especially good:

Carl - "Before drunkenly agreeing to this event the longest I had ever run for was 20 minutes.  The training regime has been light, and my attempts to `give up the booze' for the remaining time have failed miserably .  At this rate I will finish my last pina colada on the start line.  But on the plus side I have a new pair of shiny trainers and rumour has it that Doc (Ed) has bought a cattleprod for `encouragement'.  Having said that, my last fundraising event covered 3800 miles (albeit in a car) so I may be alright...."

Ed - many thanks for your support, the more money we raise the better chance I have got of getting Carl around 26.2 miles!  I will be in touch after the run to let you know how we got on.
