For those of you who know us well, you'll know that Gem loves her red wine and I can devour a bar of chocolate in 60seconds flat!  Now since we've hit our 30s and gravity is taking it's toll we have decided to challenge ourselves to something new each year!  So we thought lets do a half marathon, it'll be nice, a little light jog, a lovely day out!  That was until a certain person who will remain nameless (you know who you are) asked why we weren't doing the full marathon, and again for those who know us well the challenge was accepted before the person had even finished asking the question. 

So here we are, two 30 (soon to be 31) year olds, one in quite good shape but with a dodgy knee and the other who could do with a good couple of stone weightloss and has shin splints, attempting to run 26.2 miles.  But in all honestly we're super excited (plus bricking it) about the challenge and also the opportunity to raise some money for a brilliant cause.  We know a lot of people, as you probably all do, who have dealt with the C (some very close to home) so this is just our way of giving a nod to those who have beaten it, those who are currently fighting it and those who bravely battled and we miss very much.
