Story
Thank you for visiting my sponsorship page....
I am running the London Marathon in April 2006 for the charity Shelter. I am not sure why I chose to sign up for the marathon as I only possess two legs, don't like the cold and cannot understand why someone would want to run when they can easily take the bus. At least there will be only 26.2 miles to get through on the day.
However, the training has not put me off and I am beginning to discover the joys of pain and severe discomfort. I no longer trust hills and have learnt why it is important not to be too enthusiastic about setting big challenges for myself in the future.
If there is only one good reason for me to run then it is to support the charity Shelter and raise plenty of money for them. It was a difficult task to choose a charity to support as each cause is so deserving. I was attracted to Shelter because not only do they help the homeless and those in poor housing but they also enable people to become self-sufficient. Shelter helps 100,000 people a year fight for their rights, get back on their feet, and find and keep a home. I believe that Shelter is an effective charity that does not just throw money at the problem. I am more than happy to donate a few blisters to help them with their mission.
If you are able to donate any amount I will be entirely grateful for your support. All money raised on this page will go straight to Shelter and you can make a huge difference. My target is now £2200 so every penny counts!
Thank you for your time, Robert Kluger
