Very many thanks to all of you for your generosity and support for my London Marathon challenge. Here I am 26.2 miles later, still smiling despite the pain but with the medal, the t-shirt an overwhelming sense of achievement and (thanks in the main to you guys) around £3,000 to LOROS.
I completed the course in 4hrs and 55 minutes. I had a great run for 20 miles, passing through the 30km point in 3hrs and 7 mins, but unfortunately 'running rosie' seemed to run out of steam! The last 6 miles were slow and painful but somehow I managed to get to the finish.
The London Marathon really is an amazing experience. 32,000 runners, most of whom are raising money for a good cause being cheered on by literally thousands of supporters and wellwishers. There are parties in the street and runners dressed up as cakes, caterpillars, wombles and winebottles. It is an emotional cocktail of pain, heartache, courage, humour and most of all a love for others. If you want to feel good about life, get yourself a place in the london Marathon 2005. I'll sponsor you.
From me and LOROS a huge thanks for your support - you're the best.
love Rosie xx
