My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We’re a team of five dedicated Barnabus supporters, who are all proud to be running our first ever marathon's in this year’s 2012 Manchester Marathon on the 29th April to raise vital funds for Barnabus; a Manchester Christian Homeless Charity;
Howard Young, Gary Mallinson, Brian Gumbley, Ken Powell and James Lewis (also running the Paris marathon)
Please donate whatever you can and encourage us all with your messages as we train for this gruelling 26.2 mile event in aid of such an inspiring charity.
Barnabus are a Christian Manchester Homeless Charity; they offer a lifeline to around 500 + visiting homeless and vulnerable people each week via their City Centre Drop-in, outreach and collaborative projects. Support workers are on hand to provide advocacy support and they provide a wide range of recreational and educational classes and offer connections to training and employment. They also have our own health and wellbeing suite manned by NHS volunteers.
Barnabus have received the 'unsung heroes' Queens award for Voluntary Service, but do not receive any government funding, they rely entirely on donations.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Barnabus receive your donations and gift aid quickly, so it’s the most efficient way to donate.
Please be generous and show your support by donating now.
