Great Scottish Run 2009 · 6 September 2009 ·

We’re the only UK charity looking after the nation’s lungs. We offer hope, help and a voice. We fund research to find new treatments and cures. We support people who struggle to breathe to take control of their lives and we campaign for better lung health.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As most of you know my Dad has chronic emphezema which is (at the moment) an incurable, degenerative condition. I was also fairly recently diagnosed with asthma. Most of us never give breathing a second thought so when your lungs don't function as well as they should and you have to concentrate on each breath it can have a massive impact on your life.

The British Lung Foundation provides support and undertakes research into all types of lung disease so I decided to support them and raise funds by running the half marathon in Glasgow. If you would like to support them and encourage me (or simply increase the chances of my tomato coloured face running around Glasgow for longer) then please give a donation. It really really does not matter how small - all appreciated:o)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the British Lung Foundation and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
