Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. We’re striving for a cure, by revolutionising the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.

Story

Hi everyone!

Here we are again, on justgiving.  I've been raising some monies for cancer research recently but I've now turned my attentions to an issue very close to my heart.  Dementia affects 1 in 3 of people over 65 directly.  Thats alot of people including all their family and friends!  The amount of funding Alzheimer's research receives is a mere fraction of the amount cancer research receives!  I hope to help redress the balance by raising as much as I can.

My life has been deeply affected since my mother was diagnosed with dementia and I've helping my father to care for her for a few months now.  I've started a blog to help you all understand what it is like to be in our position and hopefully inspire you to give generously!  You can find it here:

Heres hoping we can find an effective treatment for this devastating illness.  Thank you for your support!

Ellie
