I'm going to be taking part in the Great North Run 2010 on behalf of Maggie's cancer caring centres, which provide help and support to anyone affected by cancer. Maggie's centres are built near to cancer treatment centres to complement the treatment they provide.

I lost my mum to cancer at an early age and I know how much my whole family would have benefited from the services Maggie's provide. Maggie's works in partnership with the NHS and the centres are built near to cancer treatment centres to complement the treatment they provide.

Each Maggie's centre costs about £350,000 to run each year. Your donation can help them to continue to provide the support that many people affected by cancer need to build a life with, through and beyond a cancer diagnosis.

I'm currently in training to prepare for the run, and I'll be updating on my progress (intermittently!) on my blog.
