Our lovely friend and colleague Ruth 'Drama Queen' Stevenson is beating breast cancer right now. With the support of her husband Robert, her wee boy Luca, her stepdaughter Emma, her parents, brother and many, many, many friends she's laughing in the face of illness and tweaking the nose of chemo.

Some of her colleagues from Castlemilk High School decided to raise some funds, both to support the fantastic NHS staff aiding Ruth through her illness and also to try to help others avoid this horrible condition in the future.

Seven of us will be taking part in the Great Scottish Run on September 4th 2011. We'll be running (or jogging, or walking, or, in Kevin's case, stumbling) 10k and we'd be so grateful if you could find it in your heart to donate something to this outstanding Breast Cancer Charity.

You could sponsor us individually or as a group, per kilometre, per mile, or simply make a donation. Anything you feel able to give will be truly appreciated and go to a great cause.

If you know Ruth then you already know that she's a superstar.

If you've yet to have the pleasure of her company then look forward to meeting her; she's clever and funny and pretty and she hasn't paid me a penny to write any of that.
