Together with our supporters, Barts Charity is there for patients and families in East London – through it all. We support pioneering research and the wellbeing of our brilliant NHS staff. We help to refurbish wards and provide Barts Health hospitals with the very best equipment.

Story

In February my friend Eilidh, a cyclist, was tragically killed in a crash involving a LGV (Large Goods Vehicle).

Eilidh was a strong, determined and motivated young woman who has inspired my mum, Marilyn, and I to do a skydive in her honour. We will be jumping on Saturday 17th October.  We are raising money for TIGER  (Traumatic Injury Group for Education & Research), a charitable fund of Barts and the London Charity. TIGER is a top trauma unit, carrying out world recognised research. Samples of Eilidh's blood were used for research into developing a roadside blood test for trauma victims. Her samples have already proven useful and will help other trauma patients.

Please give generously, we all miss her very much.

TIGER aims to support a wide range of innovate clinical, laboratory and social studies to improve care for severely injured patients treated at the Royal London Hospital.

Please could you also sign this petition to the Prime Minister. It's aim is to reduce the number of cyclist fatalities caused by LGVs (Large Goods Vehicles) to zero.
