Ruth and Ruth are making the awesome trip of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, in March 2010. When you know how small Ruth A is, you will realise that this is no mean feat!!! At nearly 6000m, Mt Kili is higher than Everest base camp. In fact, if you think about it - Ruth A is approximately 30% shorter than the average person, and therefore it will be as if she is going up 8000m. Nearly as high as Everest itself!!!!
It's something we have always wanted to do, so we decided to combine it with raising some money for an excellent cause. Our friends' little girl lost her leg 2 years ago in a horrific bus crash, and her family have found the LA to be invaluable.
Through our work and personal lives, Ruth and Ruth have spent lots of time with people affected by loss of limb, and so are pleased to be able to help this very worthy charity.
We are training hard (getting used to the sub-zero temperatures) and getting our equipment together. Not long to go now!
