My story
For the fifth consecutive year, I shall be running for Kidney Research UK
One of the roles of this charity is to provide funding for crucial research into the prevention of Kidney disease.Working as a kidney specialist, I see at first hand the ravages of end stage renal failure.It is a life sentence, and a shortened life sentence at that.
Please support this charity and donate now, any amount will be gratefully received.
On a happier note, this will be my seventy seventh marathon or so
This means that it is a pretty safe bet that I will finish the marathon, though Im not going to chase a time as i will have done the fantastic Connemara double marathon the week before(see pic)

Eddy was a fantastic , selfless talented runner who was well respected and lked by all who came into contact with him in the real world,as well as in the virtual community of "Runners World"
Three years ago he was a bone marrow donor.
Sadly, Eddy was struck down by septicaemia last week .After a nine day battle with liver and kidney failure on intensive care he finally fell asleep on 28/12/07.
It is yet another reason for me to run
