Story
A half marathon. That's 13 miles. Running. And, as it's the Great North Run, it's running with a long hill included. I'm not quite sure how I managed to get convinced to sign up for this, but now it's too late to pull out.
Having said all of that, I'm delighted to be running for Shift.ms (www.shift.ms). Shift.ms is an online community for young people with Multiple Sclerosis, which provides invaluable support for people with MS. It's a place where people can meet, help each other out, and ask questions that only other MS'ers really know the answer to. We want to support this community to reach out to other young MS'ers. People who have just been diagnosed (mostly in their 20s and 30s) deserve to know that MS doesn't mean giving up on your ambitions; you might just have to find another way to get there!
So, please dig deep, and help me to reach my target, which will in turn help me to drag myself around Newcastle. In the meantime, you can hear how I (and the rest of the shift speedies) are doing with our training on our blog: http://shiftmsgnr.blogspot.com/
Thanks!
