This project, continuing on the work of the past 2 years, aims to foster behaviour change and increased understanding of sexual health issues among secondary school students, and give support to people living with HIV/Aids.
The EGP group of 8 volunteers will work alongside MEDSAR volunteers (the Medical Students Association of Rwanda) in Butare during the project preparation, formal volunteer training course and project implementation. The MEDSAR volunteers are motivated and work voluntarily, with some project money towards their expenses.
In the secondary schools the national and international volunteers will work with Anti-Aids Clubs and present plays tackling issues of sexual and reproductive health. They will also work with an association for people living with HIV/Aids and 2 village based Anti-Aids Clubs.
Donations are needed to provide teaching materials in schools, including the HIV awareness plays and contraception. Travel expenses between Butare and target villages will also be drawn from the fund.
Flights and insurance are not included, and are paid for by the volunteers.
-- Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Edinburgh Global Partnerships will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. --
Many thanks for your support!
