This year on the 31st of July, I will be attempting to complete the Ironman UK triathlon! The IMUK website with detailed information can be found here: http://www.ironmanuk.com/2011/.
The Ironman Race was first held in Hawaii over 30 years ago. It is a Triathlon race and consists of a 2.4 mile (3.84km) open-water swim, 112mile (179.2km) cycle and finishes with a marathon: 26.2 miles (42.19km) run. There is a cut off time limit of 17 hours. This will be a challenging task to say the least, but to make things more interesting I am aiming to finish in just under 12 hours.
This is where you come in; I need your help to raise money for 1Voice (http://www.1voice.info/), a charity that provides support for disabled children who rely on using communication aids to speak, as well as support for their families. Specifically this money will be used for helping children and families in the local Oxfordshire 1Voice branch, where I went to school.
Therefore, I would like to ask you now for your support. However small, or large, the amount will make a real difference to these children and their families.
