Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. From 15th March to 4th April 2012, I will be taking part in the British Heart Foundation trek to Everest Base Camp. This will be a trip of a lifetime as well as fulfilling a lifelong dream. Not only that, i will be raising money for the BHF to help them with there research into heart disease.
This tough, exciting challenge begins by flying into Lukla set deep in the mountains of the Himalayas. We then trek through the homelands of the Sherpa people, among their villages and monasteries, with distant views of Everest and Ama Dablam. As we get closer to Everest Base Camp, we’ll summit Kala Patter for the awe-inspiring views of the Kumbu Glacier, Nuptse and the south west face of Everest itself. Then it’s onto Everest Base Camp, set at 5364m / 17598ft above sea level.
Heart disease can cause so much pain, suffering and distress not only to the individual, but also to the family and friends. I've also have family members who suffer from heart problems. So by doing this trek, not only will i be fulfilling a dream, i will be doing my little bit towards helping with research into heart disease.
