The University of Nottingham set up the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre in 1997 in response to the fact childhood tumours do not receive major research funds. The Centre has now begun a research programme to find out more about these fatal tumours so that far less damaging treatments can be developed.

My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I am now 9 years old and I was diagnosed as having a brain tumor on 18th July 2008, I have finished my chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment and retino acid treatment I am presently having no treatment as after my most recent scan my tumour has still not grown which is a really positive sign. My family and I would like to raise as much money as we can to improve survival rates for this very distressing condition.

The first fund raising event we had booked at Sumo raised a grand total of £1060. The car boot sale at Blaby Scout Hut on 16th November also raised a further £210.28. The Christmas alternative health & craft fete held at Blaby Methodist Church raised 415.02. Thank you very much to everyone who supported us in these events. Ryans school Thistley Meadow have also raised a massive 1,080 by doing a sponsored walk. Blaby Eye Care raised £250 by donating £1 from every private eye check they carried out.

On June 28th 2009 we have several brave (mad) people who are doing a sponsored parachute jump, if you would like to sponsor them please get in touch. The total raised by these kind people is £841 so far with money still being collected in.
