About the charity : University of Nottingham University of Nottingham
The University of Nottingham set up the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre in 1997 in response to the fact childhood tumours do not receive major research funds. The Centre has now begun a research programme to find out more about these fatal tumours so that far less damaging treatments can be developed.

Personal message:

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I am 8 years old and I was diagnosed as having a brain tumor on 18th July 2008, I have recently finished my chemotherapy and have now started my radiotherapy treatment. My family and I would like to raise as much money as we can to improve survival rates for this very distressing condition.

The first fund raising event we had booked at Sumo raised a grand total of £1060. The car boot sale at Blaby Scout Hut on 16th November also raised a further £210.28. The Christmas alternative health & craft fete held at Blaby Methodist Church on 6th December raised 415.02. Thank you very much to everyone who supported us in these events, especially Paul at Blaby Chippy who again provided the hot food free of charge.

We are currently auctioning some items on ebay including a Great Britain Basketball shirt signed by Andy Bett, a Celtic Football Shirt signed by Dion Dublin, signed cricket England International squad 2008 poster, signed Kasabian photo, signed Dion Dublin Leicester City card, signed Jersey Budd record and a Greenday bag. All of the money from these items will be going towards our total.

We are planning to hold more fund raising events in 2009 including a concert by the Up Beatles,  sponsored bike rides, sponsored runs and sponsored aeroplane jumps as well as others yet to be planned.  So please watch this space for more info.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Children's Brain Tumour Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
