Great North Run 2006 · 1 October 2006 ·

We are the largest charity dedicated to kidney research in the UK. Kidney disease ruins and destroys lives. Treatments are gruelling, relentless. There is no cure. We say this isn't good enough. We will transform kidney health. Kidney disease ends here.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Well, this is it. I have been threatening to take part in the Great North Run and now I have had my place 'confirmed' ......*gulp*

The Great North Run is the Worlds Biggest half marathon in terms of participants. Every postcode in the UK is represented on the starting grid! The course takes the scenic route through Newcastle City and will last a 'mere' 13.1 milesl!

This is my first Great North Run and although there are so many charities out there that can make good use of donations I decided to run on behalf of Kidney Research UK. Kidney disease is not just a disease that can affect the elderly, it can happen at any age. I have chosen this charity to gain sponsorship and awareness for a very worthwhile cause.

I have targeted myself to raise £500 before race day on 1st October and hope that you will donate kindly to help me reach my target and give to a worthy charity.

You can check out how my training is going at http://www.realbuzz.com/network/myBlogs/blog.php?blog=1236

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Kidney Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
