Story
Dear Visitor,
UPDATE: 01/10/2007 I completed the Great North Run in a time of 1:52:17. Thanks for all your donations so far but please continue to donate to help me meet my £500 target!
UPDATE 13/05/07: Leeds Half Marathon completed in personal best time of 1:45:22. Thanks to all those who have supported me so far. Further training for Great North Run will commence when legs have recovered!
This summer I will be running two half marathons raising money for the NET Patient Foundation, the dedicated charity of Paul Hunter who lost his life to neuroendocrine tumours last year at the age of 27.
I met Paul on a few occasions and have to say he was a talented and remarkable man both on and off the table, and never let life get in his way. It is a sad loss to his family, friends and the world of snooker. The charity helps to provide treatment and relief to sufferers of the condition, and educate sufferers and their families about NETs and treatments which may be available.
The first event is the Leeds Half Marathon which took place on the 13th May 2007 (see update above) followed by the Great North Run on the 30th September 2007.
My real training for this has taken place since Feb 07, and my initial completion target for the Leeds Half Marathon of under 2 hours was met with almost 15 minutes to spare.
Please continue to sponsor me and help me meet my ambitious target. I appreciate any donation, be it £1 or £100. Please also spread the word as every little counts.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NET Patient Foundation inc Living with Carcinoid will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
