Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be riding from Lands End to John O'Groats in September this year and hope to raise loads and loads of money for the Devon Air Ambulance and the Prospect Hospice in Swindon. I am supporting the Prospect Hospice because they provide a fantastic service for people with critical illnesses. My Grandma, Betty McNeil, began helping the Prospect Hospice in 1981 by organising collecting tins so this is something of a family tradition! There is a very sad story associated with my wanting to also support the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. Some of you will know that in September of last year I attempted to ride from Lands End to Derby with Simon Evans, my sister's partner, (aka GangsterEvans!) During the second day of our ride there was a horiffic accident and Simon was hit and killed by a car. The emergency services, and the air ambulance, were exceptional and on the scene within minutes. Despite all their efforts they were unable ot save Simon's life, however, I know they fulfil a vital role, one which truly saves many lives every year. I will be riding in Simon's memory, he was really terrifc guy, and every day he is in my thoughts. Thinking of him will doubtless help me over some of the more difficult climbs on this ride!
Please consider donating whatever you are able to, every little helps. If you would like to make a donation to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust then please visit my other Just Giving page.
Please note that all your donations will go to the charities mentioned (less the small charge to the charity in order to fund the Just Giving service), I will be funding the trip myself. If anyone is interested in joining me then there may still be spaces on the www.DiscoverAdventure.com website (28th September departure).
Thank you for reading, best regards, Keith
