My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

In November 2009, 13th - 20th I will be trekking across the Sahara, the biggest sand desert in the world. Over 8 days, I will be covering approx. 100kms which equates to 62 miles. I will be doing the trek with former Manchester United players Denis Irwin and Andy Ritchie.

The whole trek will be filmed for Manchester United TV  (sky channel 406) so you can keep track of my progress!

The trek is in aid of the Manchester United Foundation who help young people build a better lives for themselves and improve the communities they live in. It delivers football coaching, personal development and skills training. The Foundation also supports charities such as UNICEF, Christie's and Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

In total I have to raise £2500 by the end of September for the trek to go ahead.

I have been given great support finically by R D McFarlane Opticians in Alloa (01259 212420) and Chloride UK but I still need your help!

The itinerary is as follows:

Day 1: Depart UK to Ouarzazate, Morocco - Meet at London airport at the check-in desk for the flight to Ouarzazate.

Day 2: Ouarzazate to Lahfira Camp - You will continue along the Draa Valley – Glaoua Country – until reaching Tansikht. You will then leave the Draa Valley via the Nkob road, enjoying the panoramic views of Jebel Saghro – a volcanic massif. Continue for two hours until Fezou and Lahfira camp.
