Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So, me and my two children are setting out on a 100 mile bike ride from Reading to Bristol on 31st of May, a total of about 100 miles which we will take about 3 days to cycle. Our friend Zel will join us for the first half for some moral support, and then it will be just us, and our sore bits/chafing/sweaty feet...
We are hoping to raise about £500 for La Renaissance School via an excellent Manchester charities intermediary called The Charity Service.
La Rennaissance School itself caters for children aged between 6 and 13, and is in Burkina Faso, North West Africa. Its catchment covers areas of extreme poverty and deprivation. Uniquely for this area, it is an integrated school whose intake includes some children with a visual impairment. We have a dear friend Mathieu who lives and works in Burkina for the NGO out there, and we are hoping that our money will enable him to buy much needed sports equipment for the school, such as footballs, nets, volleyballs and torballs (for the visually impaired). The children LOVE their sports, especially football..
A small amount of money goes a long way in this part of Africa, so your donation will make a difference. Many thanks!!
