Hi all,

I'm running the Sheffield half marathon on the 25th of April 2010, and supporting the charity buglife. It’s a great charity, striving to enhance biodiversity and protect and restore insect rich habitats.

I love insects; they are generally forgotten about when people think of the natural world and conservation, with many charities focussing on more charismatic species, such as the Panda or Polar Bear. We need to remember the little critters! Where would our flowers and plants be without pollination? And where would our much loved birds be without food? The protection of bugs and butterflies will have a cascading effect, impacting on the success of ecosystem functioning and biodiversity.
