Story
As it's a certain big birthday this year, I wanted to really challenge myself so I have signed up to run the Edinburgh marathon, (that's 26.2 miles) and I can confidently say that myself and my running team mate, Lucy, will not be doing another one. This is definitely a one off!
Lucy and I are now putting ourselves through absolute agony in our training as we build up the distance. We've got blisters on top of blisters, the dreaded black toe seems to be appearing (no flip flop wearing for me for a while), and my knees ache so much I feel like an old woman going up and down the stairs.
So I'm doing the really hard bit to help people affected by cancer. You too can help people affected by cancer but in a completely pain-free way. All you need to do is sponsor me! See, that's easy! No running involved, and you're pretty much guaranteed not to get any blisters.
All the money that I raise is going to Macmillan Cancer Support. Did you know that there are 2 million people living with cancer in the UK? It's a huge number and Macmillan do fantastic work providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support. So not only do they provide nurses to help people affected by cancer, but they also have information for anybody who has any cancer worries, a CancerLine which anyone can ring if they have any questions about cancer, they have a benefit line which people can ring for advice about any benefits they are entitled to whilst they have treatment, they provide grants and they do so many other amazing things. It's all on the website which is www.macmillan.org.uk, if you take a look you'll see just what brilliant work Macmillan do, and you can see how your sponsorship money will make a difference.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now! This is a once in a lifetime 26.2 mile challenge!
Thank you so, so much!
