Why oh why am I doing this!? !

Good question!  I am no runner! I honestly don't know how those madmen do it! So stifle your laughs and empty your pockets and get giving every penny you can afford to the wonderful Concern Worldwide to make my pain all worthwhile as I have foolishly been allowed to run the London Marathon for them and there's no backing out now! 

I have it scientifically calculated that the more money you give, the better you'll feel.  So you may as well save my JustGiving page to your favourites!   Concern are incredible and the people they help deserve our cash so get giving my lovelies!  And I will love you all forever...

All the money raised for Concern in the 2009 London Marathon is going specifically to fund their education projects in the Zambezia province of Mozambique.  Education needs major improvement here with only 56.5% of children aged 6-10 attending school in the province and over 2/3rds of teachers lacking any formal teacher training.  Concern's education project here aims to contribute to sustainable economic development and poverty alleviation by increasing both access to and quality of primary education.

The outcomes expected for this project will be new and improved primary school infrastructure to accomodate 4,000 pupils;  Improved quality of teaching;  Increased opportunities and outcomes for girls;  and Raised awareness of HIV/AIDS.

Some of the things your sponsorship money will buy:

£22.50 - Will help buy school supplies for 12 children for a year.

£55 - Will help fund the training of 1 teacher.

£750 - Will help furnish a classroom for 90 children with desks, chairs and a blackboard.
