Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

As you may or may not know, I am a Physiotherapist in the Army and am therefore responsible for rehabilitating guys and gals who have sustained significant injuries whilst on operational duties.  My job not only exposes me to casualties of war, but also allows me to promote and educate on the benefits of exercise in terms of both physical and mental wellbeing.

I have therefore decided to 'practice what I preach' and take part in the 2009 London Marathon.  Running 26.2 miles may seem a huge challenge to me, but is nothing compared to what some of my patients have been through.

To make life harder for myself, I have chosen to run dressed as 'An Orange' and attempt to set the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the Fastest Marathon Dressed as a Fruit!!  This will be in addition to the GWR I set in 2007 for the Fastest Marathon Dressed as a Superhero!

'Help for Heroes' is a charity close to my heart, as I have seen the tremendous benefits this charity has achieved.  I would therefore greatly appreciate your support for such a worthy cause.  Even if you can't donate a fortune, please keep your eyes 'peeled' on the day and shout for 'a little satsuma' - or at least be there at the end with a refreshing 'orange squash'!

Thank you, SallyX

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Help for Heroes gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
