Hello, It is now count down time to the big M. After lots of training (in my case at least) I am looking forward to eating lots over the next week and trying not to think too hard about the pain of running 26.2 miles on Sunday 25th. But if Jane Tomlinson managed to run the distance whilst suffering from terminal cancer, I am sure that I can find the determination from somewhere to cross that finishing line. (Hugh is under strict instructions NOT to get there before me!). I hope that the suffering will be made more bearable by the thought that we are raising money for such a good cause. Hugh's father, Mike, is a trustee of the Graham Layton Trust which works to prevent blindness in Pakistan through its free eye hospitals. 1.7 million people in Pakistan are blind and each year a further 170,000 lose their sight. Yet 80% of blindness is curable: 60% is due to cateracts which can be cured by a simple operation costing just US$25. Hugh, Mike and I would be extremely grateful for your support. Donations can be made through Justgiving which is is quick, easy and totally secure. It is the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Graham Layton Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Many thanks, Sally
