I was a Dental Nurse for 15yrs and was a Practice Manager aswell for the last 7 of those years. I am now a qualified Dental Therapist (2014). This will enable me to carry out so much more on my missions to Kenya.

The international dental charity Dentaid whom i have fundraised for and worked alongside since 2001 work worldwide but more specifically for me Kenya. Bringing pain relief to people who are suffering due to a lack of dental access, provide the necessary equipment and training as well as very important education.

My next mission takes place in June 2016 where i will be taking a small dental team with me. During the 2 week mission we will work alongside a local dentist Ben Mburu, supporting him in his clinic. (I have worked alongside Ben since 2010 and assist him in everyway i can so he can provide for his community of around 164,000). Ben Mburu is a strong believer in the dental ethos of prevention is better than cure. This is why when we visit we will head out with the portable dental chair to educate the communities and schools and provide toothbrushes and the knowledge they need to improve their oral health for themselves. We will run dental out reach clinics which will be in some very remote locations,as well as running the oral health education projects and offering pain relieving treatment in orphanages, homes for the elderly and even schools.

With your support we will increase the dental provision in this developing country by resourcing dentists, oral health officers and nurses so that they can educate and provide vital pain relieving care to their communities.

Your support means many more people do not have to needlessly suffer from the debilitating pain and suffering caused by untreated tooth decay.

My next event to help raise the money needed for this mission:-

I will be facing my fears of heights again by doing the longest zipslide in europe and fastest zip slide in the world!. The zipslide is 1 mile long and I will be travelling at speeds in excess of 100mph . Apparently its the closest thing to flying so please wish me luck :)

I hope to, in the not to distant future, build a permanent dental clinic for Ben. This is vitally important to create stability of dental provision in the area as well as protecting the dental equipment from the elements.
