BUPA Great North Run 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

Once again I am taking part in The Great North Run. Last year I was thrilled to have raised over £4000 for Spinal Research. With your help, I would like to try again to raise as much money as possible for this very worthwhile charity, whose aims are very close to my heart.

Every year more than 800 people in the UK and Ireland are paralysed following an injury to their spinal cord. Spinal Research raises money to fund research into clinical treatments as well as vital scientific studies. Thanks to such pioneering research, paralysis can potentially be treated and we now stand on the brink of applying therapies that will transform the lives of paralysed people by restoring movement and feeling.

Spinal Research brings hope to the thousands living with spinal cord injury and so please, please sponsor me to run again. I would be grateful for any donation, no matter how big or small.

Thank you so much,

Sally
