Friends of The Citizens Foundation (FTCF) is a UK registered charity that raises funds for The Citizens Foundation (TCF); Pakistan's leading non-profit education charity. Since its inception in 1995, TCF has built 600 purpose-built school units nationwide in which it provides formal quality education to 80,000 children regardless of ethnicity, gender, caste or religion. Our 4,150 female teachers ensure 50% of all children enrolled are girls. "The quality of teaching provided, in many cases, equals that of Pakistan's smartest private schools. Yet the children who enrol are from the very poorest and most deprived families." - William Dalrymple, Historian and Author.

My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I hope to make a difference in the lives of needy children across Pakistan by providing them high quality education and hope you can partner with me in this cause.

I intend to undertake the Kilimanjaro expedition on October 16-25 this year (2009), and ask for your support, no matter how large or small, to make a difference in the lives of the most deserving children of Pakistan. Support this noble cause and make a difference!

Please note that all your donations go directly to TCF and do not fund my travel expenses, which are borne by myself.

Kilimanjaro is the world's highest free standing, snow-covered equatorial mountain. Now charted and climbed; stories of her resident man-eating spirits are relegated to the realms of folklore. It is the highest mountain in Africa at over 5,800 meters or 19,300 feet. Mount Kilimanjaro continues to preserve a mysticism that defies all recent knowledge of her slopes. Images of the towering snow-covered cone rising majestically from fertile green foothills have become a powerful motif of Tanzania's extraordinary extremes.

I need to raise pledges quickly to ensure I can undertake the challenge, so please take a few minutes to donate.
