Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provides life-saving, pre-hospital critical care, to patients in need. We are your local air ambulance charity, a vital part of the community and we rely on your support. Together, with your support, we can be there for patients today, tomorrow and in the future.

Story

Thank you very much to everyone for your support and sponsorship for the Bristol half marathon. We have been overwhelmed by your generosity and support.  It felt as though Sam was with us all the way and we all completed the race within the 2 hours that we were determined to do (some by more than others).  We have beaten our target of £2,000 and with your help have raised a fantastic amount for the Dorset and Somerset air ambulance

Our final times were

Tim Norris 1:50:18
George Oatley 1:56:59
Joe Norris 1:59:48

The website stays open for the next 3 months so if you still want to donate there is still have plenty of time.

Thank you once again

The Norris Family

As many of you will know, our brother Sam was tragically
killed in a car accident in January of this year. His
pregnant wife Faye and daughter Bethan were also in the
car but have now made a full recovery. The lives of Faye
and their new son Isaac were saved by the prompt actions
of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is not funded by government or lottery
money and is fully reliant on
charitable donations, of which it requires about £3,500 per
day to keep the helicopter in service. In remote and rural
areas the speed at which it arrives is critical and often
is the difference between life and death.

We have competed in the Bristol Half marathon with Sam for
the last 2 years, and last year he finished in a time of
2hrs 9 minutes. Our Aim for this year is to finish the run
in under 2 hours and raise some money for this fantastic
organisation to which our whole family owes a great deal.
