In June 2008, aged 23, I was diagnosed with Stage 2B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After more than 18-months of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, a stem cell transplant, pill popping, balding, Hickman lines, tattoos (!), a relapse and hospital meals, in April 2010 it was finally confirmed that I was in complete remission. This experience was the hardest time of my life and I am incredibly indebted to the cancer charities who provided me support, and also to those who research into more advanced treatments.   Progress in cancer treatment and prevention is happening, but with 40% of people developing cancer in their lifetimes, this remains an uphill battle. To try to help those who are still fighting, and those who have not yet begun their fight, I am embarking on another uphill (and hopefully sometimes downhill) battle of my own.   In November I will attempt a 5-day 350km cycle challenge across Cuba to raise money for 4 UK cancer charities: the Lymphoma Association; Children with Leukaemia; Marie Curie Cancer Care; and Ovarian Cancer Action.
