Story
DUE TO AN INJURY TO MY RIGHT KNEE, WHICH REQUIRES SURGERY, I AM NO LONGER ABLE TO RUN IN THIS YEARS LONDON MARATHON.
I WILL INSTEAD BE RUNNING NEXT YEARS MARATHON.
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS DONATED SO FAR, AND IF YOU WANT YOUR MONEY RETURNED UNTIL NEXT YEARS MARATHON, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
Last year I made a promise to my uncle, it was a promise that now seems a bit silly! But last year he ran the London Marathon, and I promised him, that if he finished it, then I would run the next Marathon (2010)... so he finished it, and here I am!
So I thought as I'm going to do something that some would call challenging, I may as well help a good cause in the process. I am proud to be running for a wonderful charity, Phabkids.
Phab aims to promote and encourage people with and without physical disabilities to come together on equal terms, to achieve complete integration within the wider community and to make more of life together.
Money raised will
go to supporting a network of over 200 clubs. Phab clubs provide
valuable support for families, and carers helping them overcome
feelings of isolation. All members of the same family can belong to the
same club and they are able to enjoy events and activities together and
with others.
Phabkids organise residential holidays for disabled and non disabled children. Phab also encourages and helps support self reliance in young people and helps to enhance their living skills and abilities.
I'm sure you will all agree this is a fantastic charity, and so any donation you can afford will be hugely appreciated by more than just myself.
